This past Thursday, French luxury lifestyle brand LALIQUE - known for its exquisite crystal creations and over 130 years of heritage - partnered with Mandarin Oriental, a Five-Star hotel on Columbus Circle that boasts stunning views of Manhattan, to host a private dinner for the unveiling of LALIQUE’s newest art collection, RockStone 40. Created in collaboration with artist Arik Levy, the collection will be on display at Mandarin Oriental, New York throughout the month of May. To fête the occasion, Asiate’s culinary team has created a custom Chef’s Tasting Menu inspired by RockStone 40 that will be available for dinner as a delicious companion to the exhibit.
Conceived by Arik Levy as a “journey to the center of the Earth," the RockStone 40 sculptures depict brilliantly detailed mineral forms which feature LALIQUE crystal in four colors: amber (fire), blue (water), green (earth) and clear (air), each representing the four elements in Nature.
Using these four elements Asiate’s culinary team has created a four-course tasting menu highlighting ingredients including fluke, grilled avocado, Long Island duck, strawberries and white asparagus. And we mustn't forget the wine pairing list with which guest's may also accompany their experience.
