There are few things in the world of fashion more iconic than the classic Louis Vuitton monogram, which is why countless models, muses, and celebrities joined creative director Nicolas Ghesquière on Friday to celebrate the house and the launch of its new project. The Celebrating Monogram dinner, hosted at the Museum of Modern Art, was held in honor of six new collaborations with today's most influential iconoclasts. While Rei Kawakubo was noticeably absent, her fellow participants, Frank Gehry, Karl Lagerfeld, Cindy Sherman, Christian Louboutin, and Marc Newson were all in attendance, presenting their own design interpretations of the brand's monogrammed legacy. Besides gushing over the new pieces, which could all be considered works of art, A-list guests including Nicole Kidman, Ashley Olsen, and Jennifer Connelly popped into a portrait studio with photographer Patrick Demarchelier, complete with life-size versions of their very own monograms.
