Winter in the Meatpacking District revolves around one thing: the Standard Ice Rink. It's sort of a mini-version of Rockefeller Center, where every type of person gathers around to skate or just sit back with some hot chocolate and get in the holiday spirit. Both of those things are exactly what happened last night, at Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Tom van Dorpe's party to kick off the season of the Rink. Unsurprisingly it was a stylish affair, with models and fashion types including Hanne Gaby Odiele, Genevieve Jones, and Hari Nef making their way out to indulge in the offerings. Just about everyone took a minute to lace up skates and have a lap around the track (or immediately wipe out, in the case of this writer) before mingling over hot toddys and boozy apple cider. It was a fun way to start the season, and it only got us more excited to take advantage of the rink and check out the events the Standard has planned there.
