Last night patrons returned to the golden era of nostalgic New York City with the grand opening of Ibis Mediterranean Restaurant & Lounge. Located steps from the prestigious Kimberly Hotel, Ibis embraces the essence of the 1920’s opera house it once was and brings an incomparable Mediterranean dining experience to the heart of Midtown. The exquisite, 10,000 square foot bi-level restaurant, lounge and event space pays homage to the many famous faces that once graced its stage including Cuban orchestra legend Dezi Arnaz, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin and Edith Piaf. Guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails including their signature Cleopatra’s Kiss with Bianco tequila, sage, cayenne pepper, ginger salt, mango and lime and hors d'oeuvres like lamb lollipops, fried baby artichokes and truffle risotto cakes from the Mediterranean menu led by Executive Chef Ferhat Aydin. Live entertainment included a DJ and surprise belly dancing performance.
