Inside The Friends of Caritas Cubana FCC Fall Fiesta

The Friends of Caritas Cubana Junior Committee hosted their FCC Fall Fiesta Fundraiser on Thursday, September 17th at NYC’s new events favorite 404 to raise money for Caritas Cubana programs in Cuba. It was just the Latin night out its guests were craving with food sponsored by famed Victor’s Cafe (favorite NYCer’s Cuban restaurant), music by Stephen Jervis, hand rolled cigars by CF Dominicana Cigars, and a silent auction decked out by Daana with items donated by Land Rover, Davidoff, BLADE, private hunting club, Tamarack Preserve, and many more. The evening kept in full swing as NYC’s hottest rising DJs Sabrina Burda & Natalie Dodge (aka SBND) stepped up to DJ the second half of the fundraiser, keeping everyone on the dance floor until closing.

Friends of Caritas Cubana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the capacity of Caritas Cubana to provide humanitarian, emergency and social services to the people of Cuba. Caritas Cubana is active in every province of Cuba and serves approximately 70,000 needy individuals annually. Caritas Cubana serves those in need regardless of religion, political beliefs or sexual orientation.

Thousands of young persons receive services, including the elderly, socially disadvantaged or physically disabled children and adolescents, and young adults with Down syndrome. The Caritas programs for children are: daycare programs for toddlers; after school programs that provide computer skills, tutoring, sports, arts and crafts, meals, and hygiene; day programs for young adults with Down syndrome, autism and other disabilities.

Friends of Caritas Cubana provides services to people living with HIV AIDS through their support groups. Friends of Caritas Cubana also provides emergency services to families and communities as needed, such as hurricane relief.
