Last night, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum's Young Collectors Council kicked off a week of fine arts events on Museum Mile with the Young Collectors Council's Annual Guggenheim International Pre-Gala which was presented by Dior. The night brought out some of New York's biggest names in the art world and the NYC social scene including newly-engaged DJ power couple, Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis, British DJ Harley Viera Newton and A$AP Rocky. The pre-party was for tonight's annual Guggenheim Gala set to honor the late On Kawara, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian and Columbian artist, Doris Salcedo all of whom have been the subjects of exhibitions at the Guggenheim.
Guests gathered around the circular staircase in the museum's main rotunda and centered around a cloth-draped circular stage to watch the multimedia project of Claire Boucher (a.k.a. Grimes) come to life through her musical and artistic performance. Boucher also curated the art for a photo booth at the event which her back-up dancers were seen enjoying with her after their set.
