Jemima Kirke
We all know and love the artsy bohemian Jessa on
Girls, but Jemima Kirke's on-screen persona may not be so far from her real one. The British-born New Yorker and close friend of Lena Dunham considers herself an artist before actress, as she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2008.
Though she primarily produces portraits (such as her self-portrait pictured here), Kirke wasn't all for her character doing the same with her season two hubby played by Chris O'Dowd.
In an interview with Huffington Post, she said of the scene:
"I was a little pissed at that moment, when I saw that painting as a prop. I was like, Lena. Come on, it’s just a little close to home."
