RIP BlackBerry: The Last True "It Girl" Phone

In the midst of the fashion cycle's nostalgic embrace of late-aughts trends, one of the most memorable accessories of the era is bidding us adieu forever. Long before iPhones were ubiquitous, the BlackBerry replaced the T-Mobile Sidekick as the ultimate tech status symbol. BBM was the precursor to iMessage, and the ability to text your friends on it proved, quite literally, that you were in the "in crowd." 

While smartphones are now painfully commonplace, for a few shining years the BlackBerry stood out at as a coveted cellular device in the hands of every It Girl, from Paris and Nicky Hilton to Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo. Now, as BlackBerry phones officially power down for good, let us take a trip down memory lane and revisit their heyday.
