The Family Acid and Hiroshi Watanabe

Roger Steffens began taking photographs - often ethereal snapshots - at the height of Vietnam as he was serving overseas. Take one look at the name of the exhibition and it's clear that a discussion of the exhibition is incomplete without mentioning both LSD and the relationships Steffens' photographs capture. The images manage to pay homage to both counterculture movements and broader experiences in the 1970s and onward. Come for psychedelic photographs, leave with a greater understanding of America's tumultuous past. Oh, and the Instagram curated by the Steffens family is dope. The show runs through August 26.
