Hurricane Sandy devastated the coast, taking buildings like Fort Tilden's aquatics center along with it and leaving destruction in its wake. Enter Katherina Grosse. The artist worked with MoMA PS1 to transform the wreckage out on the Rockaways into an installation. Grosse spray-painted the derelict building in sunset hues to create the illusion of an almost 2-D, fantastic building dropped onto the beach. The installation will be up through November 30 but we recommend catching it now while enjoying a day at the beach.
