These days, almost as if taken out of a chapter from Being Rich For Dummies, hedgefunders and tech entrepreneurs aplenty throw their money at art advisors to source the empty, provenanced pieces that hang the walls of their cold modern apartments.
Art collections are certainly a status symbol, but only those with true interest in the hunt come out on top.
This November, the impressive estate of Microsoft Co-Founder Paul G. Allen will hit the auction block at Christie's. More than 150 masterpieces spanning 500 years of art history, all chosen personally by the late billionaire business magnate himself.
Prior to the sale, which has an expected value of more than $1 billion, Allen's collection will be on view at the Christie's Rockefeller Center galleries starting October 29th.
Curious to see which of his pieces have the art world buzzing?
