The Big Winners

So who came out ahead? Here's our final list: 8. Aloha, with a measly $9.6 million. Wave "aloha" to meeting the film's budget, kids. 7. Hot Pursuit, pulling ahead of Aloha by more than half of Aloha's opening weekend total with $13.9 million. 6. Poltergeist, haunting the bottom half of May's blockbusters with $22.6 million. 5. Tomorrowland, still looking for a "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow," with $33 million. 4. Mad Max: Fury Road sped into the top 4 with a shiny $42.4 million. 3. San Andreas made a quake with $54.5 million. 2. Pitch Perfect 2 pitch-slapped the competition with an aca-awesome $69.2 million. 1. And, of course, The Avengers: Age of Ultron almost lived up to its predecessor's record-breaking opening weekend, but not quite...of course, it still crushed the rest of May's blockbusters with the power of Mjolnir. So it looks like The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Pitch Perfect 2 will be returning at the end of the summer to bring it against June and July's biggest flicks!
