Another favorite newcomer on South Beach, Planta is a plant based restaurant by the King of Miami, David Grutman. Chef David Lee has done an incredible job of reinventing plant based cuisine and starting a health food craze in Miami. He brought the restaurant to life and created the 'Spicy Tuna' Dehydrated Watermelon dish which has been a huge hit in Miami. No one would think you could turn watermelon to tuna, but Lee has mastered the texture and taste. Other favorites include the cauliflower tots, 'crab cake' tostadas, and 'cashew ricotta' almond butter toast. People fly to Miami just to eat at Planta - make sure you reserve a seat in advance because it will fill up during Basel.
