Once owned by Hal B. Wallis, former head of Warner Bros., the residence had also been home to James Dean in the mid-1950s, during the year he filmed his iconic roles in East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause, and Giant. The actor rented a room in the 4,000-square-foot house, which was originally built in 1927. Situated on a double lot encompassing over 11,000-square-feet of land, the property frequently played host to some of the industry's biggest bashes. In fact, it was at one of these parties where Dean met the casting director for Rebel Without a Cause.
