Summer Of Shark Part II?

No we aren't talking about shark jumping, but rather sharks at the beach!  Literally, a 24-foot shark washed up near Gilgo beach yesterday.  You may remember how In 2001 the media manufactured the Summer of Shark story, mercilessly pushing the threat of shark attacks (which were incidentally down 15% that year) into mainstream consciousness.  Although this big boy was a toothless basking "shark" that feeds on plankton (and thus not a threat to humans), the story has already been picked up by Drudge and Huffpo. Couple this with the recent shark sighting in Quogue, and we may have another media sensation on our hands!
