How do you go about sourcing the rare ephemera and artwork that you decide to display?

At the Boo-Hooray showroom in the city we regularly present archives that we sell to museums and universities, but we also super-serve a small number of private collectors with some of the coolest books and ephemera of the last 50+ years and this summer in Montauk we met some new clients with a true passion for the book arts. They picked up some pretty amazing books. Boo-Hooray regularly stages exhibitions ranging from ephemera to fine art - it felt natural to showcase art by artists ranging from established legends to underground legends.

With Jane Dickson, the exhibit grew out of the big artist monograph I am editing of her work, with Pat McCarthy it came from the idea to bring his amazing sculptures to a Montauk audience. We also wanted to show some of all the rare books that we sell at Boo-Hooray in a different setting. It feels pretty cool to display a rare 16th century architectural volume in Montauk next to Raymond Pettibon posters and original Mark Gonzales drawings!
