The Hill and Extra WHCD Party At The Embassy Of Canada

Details: On Friday, April 24th, The Hill, Extra, and the Embassy of Canada hosted an evening of food, music and libations to celebrate one of the most anticipated weekends in D.C. - the White House Correspondents Association dinner weekend. The red carpet was bustling with Hollywood celebrities and D.C. politicians alike, posing for photos with the carpet’s very own Canadian Mountie. The event's host included Jimmy Finkelstein (Chairman of News Communications, parent company of The Hill), Adam Prather (Publisher, The Hill), Bob Cusack (Editor-in-Chief, The Hill), and Gary Doer (Ambassador of Canada to the United States). Guests mingled at the Embassy, enjoying drinks and seafood catered by Canadian chefs including D.C.’s local ‘Top Chef’ Spike Mendelsohn’s specialty milkshake cocktails. Crowds snaked along the terrace, where observers caught a glimpse of the red carpet and partiers below, as well as the D.C. night skyline, in sight of the illuminated Capitol building. The party was building excitement in anticipation for the next day’s extravagant White House Correspondent’s dinner. Popular guest, Michael Kelly said he was most excited to meet the Obamas, after only ever making acquaintance with the Netflix original series’ president from ‘House of Cards’.
