The folks at National Geographic and Emergency Essentials/Practical Preppers LLC helped us start our own “bugout” starter preparedness kit, equipped with things we hope we never have to use like a medical kit, emergency food rations, hand warmers, a headlamp, batteries, a makeshift tent and sleeping bag, 5-in-1 whistle, emergency radio, and more. David suggests adding a lighter and a photo of your loved ones (in case you need to point them out to strangers in order to find them).
