OK, we’re not advocating ANY violence here--and we’re certainly not asking you to embrace gun-ownership like most of the characters on NatGeo’s Doomsday Preppers, but having some method of defending yourself is advisable. In New York City and DC for example, gun ownership is illegal, so an extra canister of pepper spray wouldn’t hurt and gives you more distance on an intruder than a handheld object. Just try to not upset any gun-wielding Virginians or Vermonters...
