Where: Drybar Salon in Bethesda, MD
Who was there: Governor Martin O’Malley, State Delegate Arianna Kelly, Chris Gordon of NBC 4 and Matt Ackland of FOX 5
Other details: On Tuesday, July 1st, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley proclaimed July 1st, 2014 “Buttercup Day.” The day celebrated HB-137, THE DRYBAR BILL, going into effect in Montgomery Country Maryland. Drybar stylists and loyal customers gathered at Drybar Bethesda (4840 Bethesda Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814) to celebrate the monumental affair and a couple of local TV affiliates were also spotted with their respective camera crews. The Bill, going into effect in Maryland, is named for Drybar’s signature yellow blow dryer and company mascot. The official proclamation is meant too commemorate the day and recognize the spirit behind Drybar. The bill establishes a licensing system to serve clients who are of age, complimentary wine, beer, and bubbly while having their hair styled to Drybar perfection. The bill was developed by State Delegate Arianna Kelly, in partnership with Drybar regional manager Courtney Barfield, and was signed into law by Governor.
