On Tuesday, we threw a party with One Medical, the San Francisco-based medical practice that just opened up two offices in Washington (1627 Eye Street NW, 1001 G Street NW). Guests came by after work to unwind with cocktails and bites, and everyone left with a free one-year membership to the medical program.

One of the biggest problems with finding a doctor in DC is getting a good one that doesn't have a waiting list. One Medical is open and taking applications, and some guests signed up and booked their first appointments that night, like @brittanyabremer:

Another thing that sets One Medical apart from other Washington general practice doctors is how they engage with patients technologically. Prescriptions can be renewed online, patients can email their doctor, appointments can be set on the same day you need it,online--and a lot of this can be done via their iPhone app.

They also promise on-time appointments. Patients meet with one doctor, not an assistant-then-doctor (which is what I am used to, and have always disliked).

One Medical was founded in 2007 by Tom Lee, the same guy that invented ePocrates, a mobile application that basically all doctors today use for drug information. He is a truly cutting edge individual, and is changing the world of medicine by harnessing technology to make things easier for everyone.
