General Care Flower FAQ
Sai's General Care Tips:
- Choose blooms with firm petals and buds.
- Remove foliage below the water line.
- Place in room temperature water as soon as possible.
- Use a clean vase. Change the water entirely every other day or so. Or use flower food. Food packets contain a bactericide that keeps the water fresh for a couple days.
- Every few days recut 1/2"-1" off the stems at a 45 degree angle, preferably under running water to prevent extra air going into the stems. Use sharp scissors or knife for a clean cut, ensuring the least amount of damage to tissue/cells at the end of the stem.
- Keep away from fruit or vegetable, especially apples and bananas. Gas emitted by ripening fruit/vegetable can damage flowers. Also, remove dead blooms as they occur... 'one bad apple spoils the whole bushel.'
- Keep away from bright light and heat.
