Cycling Clubs
Like the running clubs, cycling clubs are a huge help with motivation. As the weather gets warmer, you'll want to be outside anyway, so why not get a work out done, too? If you're not quite at the professional level, just get some friends together and start your own amateur club! Or, find one in your area and get to know your neighbors. These are our go-tos:
Potomac Pedalers Touring Club: Although you should be in good shape to join, the rides start at 15 miles so newbies, don't be totally discouraged! This club is the largest in the city and offers over 1,000 group rides each year, for free!
Bike and Brunch: From April to November, this mostly single (hint, hint) crew of bikers is really doing the work out thing right. They ride from 20-60 miles each time, and then enjoy each other's company at a nearby brunch spot. Can you really ask for anything more?
