Where: Washington Canoe Club, 3700 Water Street NW (Georgetown)
When: Sunday, August 11| 11am-4pm
Why: The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, now in its seventh year, helps keep beaches, rivers, parks and lakes across America “barefoot friendly.” This year, Barefoot Wine is teaming up with the Surfrider Foundation on a tour of 15 cleanups nationwide, with Sunday's stop in Washington, DC, in Georgetown.
After-Party: Volunteers are also invited to attend a celebration, organized by the Surfrider Foundation, featuring surf-inspired fare. You have to put your time in first, as tickets for the celebration will be distributed at the cleanup.
