On Monday, PAUL Bakery opened its third Washington location to much fanfare! Located on Connecticut Avenue, PAUL bakery brings a new and exciting food option to the Golden Triangle. Like the two previous stores in the District (in Georgetown and Penn Quarter), this PAUL bakery location has the same feel and ambiance thanks to the decor: similar wood frames and furniture coming from their warehouse in France.
Founded in 1889 in Lille, France, this bakery has many french favorites on the menu such as pain au chocolat (chocolate croissants), éclairs, baguettes, and the mouth watering macarons. Additionally, for their summer menu, PAUL bakery is introducing new items such as salads made with quinoa, new drinks (natural smoothies and frappe drinks), and sandwiches with grilled vegetables.
The famous boutique establishment, present in posh neighborhoods in over 25 countries, introduced itself to this new Connecticut Ave location by giving away a free baguette or large macaron to the first thousand customers who made a purchase. By the time we arrived in the early afternoon, the "stock" was almost gone: the PAUL bakery opening proved to be a great success!
