Too broke to smoke? Don't worry the city has your back. The Associated Press reports that the DC Council is expected today to discuss a provision in the law to legalize medical marijuana that allows low-income residents to receive discounts on the drug. One more reason to love this city!Out of the other fourteen states to legalize medical marijuana so far, DC is the only one to include a provision for patients who can't afford the cost of marijuana from dispensaries, which can run up to $350 an ounce.
As the Council discusses the details of the regulation, more information on who can qualify for the program will become steadily available, which is expected to be enacted in 2011.
