Saturday afternoon, Chef Todd Gray of Equinox, and his wife Ellen, hosted a garden party at their home. And while everyone likes a good, weekend al fresco get together, Todd and Ellen took it a step further and arranged for their shindig to benefit FAIR Fund, an organization that works to prevent human trafficking.
Chef Todd's restaurant recently reopened (in June) after having been closed due to fire damage. What better way to celebrate the reopening than a party?
Both Chef Todd and Michel Richard (of Citronelle and Central) provided food, while wine was compliments of Winebow and Country Vinter.
As with hosts of other D.C. gatherings, charity was the headliner of the event at Chef Todd's. For sale was handmade jewelry by JewelGirls, a subset of FAIR fund that is an:
"An economic empowerment and art therapy program for adolescent girl survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, and street life."
The event raised around $8,000 during the quick gathering.
Sighted at the garden party was Serendipity 3's Janine Schoonover, fueling the rumors that NYC hot spot Serendipity will soon occupy the Georgetown corner lot that was once home to the now-defunct Nathan's.
