Venga, a new, free mobile app that gives users the scoop on specials and giveaways at DC restaurants and bars, kicked off with a launch party on June 15 at Cities Restaurant and Lounge. Approximately 200 attendees nibbled on Cities' appetizers and indulged in the open bar. The party had so much buzz, an additional rumored 350 eager RSVPs were relegated to the wait list.
Venga staff had iPads on hand showing others how to add restaurants and bars to their "A-list," so they'd only be notified of Venga-exclusive specials at their favorite spots, and never miss a deal from said favorite restaurants.
In addition to restaurant and bar deals, Venga will also have sweepstakes from time to time. On July 2, Venga is giving away 100 great seats (we're talking 5 rows from the field) and a pre-party at Justin's Cafe, which is two blocks from National's Stadium. There will also be "Priceless Prizes," like an outdoor brunch with wine pairings for six guests at Peacock Café, and exclusive tastings and in-home cooking from Top Chef's Mike Isabella and Spike Mendelsohn.
