Shea Radiance Target Launch Party

On Sunday, Shea Radiance held a party to celebrate a huge win--300 Target stores began carrying the brand’s hair care products. Founded in 2005, Shea Radiance is a shea butter beauty brand based in Columbia, Maryland, and the brainchild of husband and wife team Shola and Funlayo Alabi. Shea Radiance is unique because their products are made from fairly traded and sustainably packaged shea butter, and the company redirects 10% of proceeds to (8 and counting) women agricultural co-ops in Nigeria.

The launch party was held at the Historic Oakland Manor in Columbia, Maryland and featured special guests like Korto Momolu and Myleik Teele as well as many local, business, government and beauty industry supporters. Shea Radiance products were displayed for guests to sample throughout the venue. In the Indulge Room, Maisie Dunbar and the staff at Maisie Dunbar Spa Lounge plus Nicole Colavito provided massages, makeup applications and manicures using Ginger + Liz nail polish. In the Beauty Lounge, superstar stylists from Na'Klectic Natural Hair and John Lee of Today’s Image were on hand to provide hair services.

With internationally inspired hors d'oeuvres and desserts, water provided by Voss Water and cocktails by Fragoli Liqueurs and Passionne di Fiore Prosecco, guests mingled and celebrated. If the Shea Radiance launch party is an indication of how the line will fare in Target stores, we anticipate much success!
