Millennial Trains Project's "All Aboard" Party

Last night, guests gathered at a pop-up space on H Street NE for a party to kick off the Millennial Trains Project, a series of transcontinental journeys for highly motivated millennials to explore examples of economic opportunity, engage local communities, and co-create new approaches to tackling major challenges facing the US. The project was founded by Patrick Dowd, a Georgetown University grad and Fulbright scholar that was inspired by his journey on the Jagriti Yatra (Hindi for "journey of awakening"), a 15-day tour of India by train that hosts 450 young Indians concerned with improving the state of their country through enterprise.

Guests, many of them dressed in "conductor chic" attire, enjoyed a live DJ and free food from Pepe The Food Truck. The event was a part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The first trains are set to depart in 2013 via one of three major routes, with 100 millennials (age 18-34) aboard each trip. Contact the organization to apply or donate by visiting MillennialTrain.co.
