Dupont Circle Russian eatery Mari Vanna finally opens tonight, after a month-long wait which included an excited tweet endorsement from DC's most famous Russian, Alex Ovechkin. Last night, friends and family were invited to check out the romantic space, and sample bites and drinks from the menu, including homemade Blinis (Russian-style crepes) while an accordionist filled the space with Russian melodies.

Mari Vanna opens all three levels tonight, with happy hour starting at 4pm, and dinner service starting at 5pm. It is about five blocks from the White House in Dupont Circle at 1141 Connecticut Ave NW.
