On Saturday, Georgetown was abuzz in celebration of all things delicious. The 18th annual fall food festival, Taste of Georgetown, featured bites from the best restaurants and distinguished specialty shops in the area.
There was something tasty for everyone, including classic American favorites as well as innovative samples from a variety of worldly cuisines.
Popular dishes included Morton’s steak sandwiches, Georgetown Catering’s lobster rolls, Bodega’s paella [pictured, above right], and Mie N Yu’s pumpkin turnovers. Competing cupcakeries Baked and Wired, Georgetown Cupcake, and Sprinkles showcased their yummiest varieties. Attendees could pair their samplings with wine, spirits, ales, and the quintessential Oktoberfest brew tastings in the Washington City Paper Pavilion.
This year, the many talented artists of Blues Alley took to the Taste of Georgetown Stage [pictured, above right, via]. The line-up included Michael Bowie Trio, Blues Alley Youth Orchestra, Jacques Johnson and Friends, and Sandra Y. Johnson Quintet.
Top Georgetown chefs came out to compete in the first annual "Pumpkin Food Fight" to see who could create the best dish featuring fall’s favorite ingredient, pumpkin!
