On Monday, August 12, Clyde's of Georgetown will celebrate 50 years with free breakfast (popular egg dishes, juice and coffee) from 8-10am. The classic American pub on M Street first opened in 1963, and grew to a family of restaurants which today includes multiple Clyde's locations in the DMV, as well as Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, 1789 and The Tombs.
Following breakfast, diners may come in to enjoy a menu that will be a total blast from the past. They're bringing back items served at Clyde’s that were popular in the 1960s & 1970s, such as the London Broil, Filet Bearnaise, and Beer Battered Shrimp, drinks like the Brandy Alexander, Sidecar, and Kir Royale, priced from $5 to $25.
The restaurant's new book, How We Do Business: Clyde’s Primer for Beating the Odds in the Restaurant Business by J. Garrett Glover will also be available for sale for $24.95 at the restaurant.
