Malini Murmu, a 21-year old MBA student studying in Bangalore hung herself from the ceiling fan of her hostel room after she was publicly dumped on Facebook. The Times of India posted his Facebook status that read,
"Feeling cool today. Dumped my girlfriend. Happy independence day."
Next to a printout of his Facebook status message she left notes on a whiteboard, including the message, 'he ditched me.' Her father is pressing charges against her alleged boyfriend who could be punished up to seven years in jail if convicted.
