Husband and wife engineers, Mariquel and Gaston, came up with the Hickies. As much in the honeymoon phase as the two still seem to be, Hickies has nothing to do with kissing as much as it has to do with tying-the-knot, literally.
Hickies is an alternative to shoe laces. Hickies are a elastic customizable shoe lace that allows users to slip their feet into their sneakers without ever having to tie their shoes again. Now, every sneaker can become a slip on. The partners only asked supporters for $25,000 but the concept reached out to 3,370 backers who donated a total of $159,167 for the project to take off.
