Just a few hours ago, Jay-Z took to the stage at SXSW, the ever-growing technology/film/music festival. To really incorporate all three elements of the gathering, which prides itself in it's panels and discussions involving social media and the like, SXSW streamed the concert live and for free on the American Express YouTube channel. The show was Jay-Z's first-ever solo performance, and was held at Austin City Limits Moody Theater for the "Amex Sync Show Presenting Jay-Z." As you can tell from the photos and live stream, the theater was packed, with lines are stretching outside the doors and around the block.
The energetic fans threw up their "Hova" hands as they cheered and sang along with the rapper's hits. But for those watching from home, one of the coolest elements was the synced live stream viewing experience. You could pick from three cameras: the director's cam, reverse robo cam, and the audience experience -- which made for optimal viewing experience from a laptop.
Just watching the show at home...
