Lies Maculan's "The Dream Shop" Makes Dreams A Reality

[Photos by Adriel Reboh for PMc] Dreams are weird to explain, with all their headless people and worlds without iPods. But artist Lies Maculan compiled similar strange ideas and created a pop-art installation called "The Dream Shop" around them, which is now open in Chelsea.

Depending on your outlook on life, most of the dreams depicted in the exhibit can be considered totally enjoyable. Some of our subconcious desires represented include "unexpected inheritance," "wrinkle free," "sex with the ex," "uncomplicated girlfriend," (my personal favorite) "social climb," and the much more worrysome "stork delivery." That one's a doozy.

Erin Fetherson, Arden Wohl, and Kipton Cronkite hosted the exhibit's opening on March 12th, and it's safe to say guests like Simeone Scaramozzino, Henri Fink, and Sumi Trenholme all went home and dreamt about some serious absurdities that night. But that's good for an artist like Maculan, no?
