Karl Lagerfeld
It is a couture tradition to end each show with a bridal gown and in his latest Chanel couture collection, Karl ended the show with not just one, but two brides. The brides were accompanied by Karl's nephew, the ring bearer. The bridal couture was feathery and romantic, much like the rest of the Weimar themed collection. The two brides were meant to show the designer's support for same-sex marriage.
Karl has been quoted as saying,
"I don't even understand the debate. Since 1904 the church and state have been separate [in France]."
While Karl is an open supporter of same-sex marriage, he opposes allowing same-sex couples to adopt or conceive though artificial insemination.
