As Couture Week flounces on in Paris, one catwalk cast has garnered even more attention than the clothes: the star-studded class of Fendi Spring 2021.
The debut of designer Kim Jones's first collection as creative director of the brand, a title previously held by the inimitable Karl Lagerfeld, definitely earned its buzz. Wednesday's presentation put forth a stunning parade of intricate pieces, inspired, like what would have been the 2020 Met Gala, the writer Virginia Woolf.
But even more impressive than Jones's first-ever foray into womenswear? His enviable Rolodex of famous friends and supermodels. Among those he tapped to elevate the runway to A-list heights were Bella Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Naomi Campbell, Adwoa Aboah, and Christy Turlington. Demi Moore even made a surprise appearance. But still, one big name stood out among the rest: Moss.
Yes, as in Kate, but also as in Lila Grace, the certified style scion and Kate's 18-year-old daughter. Like the designer himself, the two were making their major debut - as the chicest mother-daughter duo together on the runway.
Seeing as Lila Grace, the child of Moss and Dazed media founder and CEO, Jefferson Hack, has been rising in the ranks of the modeling world and is repped by her mother's agency, it was really only a matter of time before she walked in her mother's footsteps in the most literal sense (although here we might say Kate walked in hers, since Lila stepped out on the runway just before her mom).
Post-procession, the family affair continued on as Kate and Lila posed together in one of the pandemic-safe glass boxes set up for the occasion, surrounded by flowers. "Night of the Living Dolls" vibes aside, it was a magical moment for the fashionable pair, and one that confirmed Kate's supermodel legacy will live on with her progeny.
