From ASW:
"Man-about-town and jewellery designer Waris Ahluwalia received "le Tout Paris" on Monday night at the hip concept store Collette to celebrate the European launch of “Omnia Vinci Amor” (which is Latin for "Love Conquers All"), the new jewellery line from House of Waris.
[Waris is quite the entertainer]
The collection, inspired by tiles in a bathroom at the Hotel Raphael in Paris, is based on a flock of friendly birds with names like Raphael, Octavian, Roma and Liberte. Glitterati from all over the world flocked to join Collette owner Sarah Lerfel in toasting Waris. Guests, including Italian Vogue’s Franca Sozzani, International Herald Tribune’s Suzy Menkes, filmmaker Wes Anderson, menswear designer Adam Kimmel, artist Anne McNally and filmmaker Liz Goldwyn, perused the baubles and the store windows, which were hand-painted by House of Waris artistic director Eric Adolfsen and took 26 hours to complete. “Craft is really important to me – even in lettering and sign painting,” explained the chic Sikh.
The after-party, hosted by Lou Doillon, nightlife impresario and graffiti artist Andre and Purple Fashion magazine's Olivier Zahm, was held at everyone’s favourite Parisian nightclub, Le Baron. Injecting his signature flare, Waris transformed the club’s entrance into an tropical forest covered in lush palm trees. "Until I relocate to the Caribbean, I will bring the tropics to my friends," he promised. French DJ du jour Olympia Le Tan ignited dance fever with an early 90s mix of pop/dance/funk, which included chic beats from retro-favs Depeche Mode that, combined with a plethora of Belvedere Vodka, kept revellers – designer Giambattista Valli, French Vogue’s Anastasia Barbieri, Casey Spooner and actress Leelee Sobieski – bopping till the wee hours of the morning."
