Pianos Inspiring Impromptu Serenades All Over New York

You may have wondered why there are random pianos placed sporadically around the city. Well I have your answer: Sing for Hope. This non-profit has placed 60 pianos around the city for people to play and interact with one another. The idea for this came from British artist Luke Jerram's artwork called "Play Me, I'm Yours."

Sing for Hope is a non-profit institution that connects professional artists with schools, hospitals and communities. Jerram has been involved with this program for two years now and has traveled all over the world for the project. The pianos are available from 9am-10pm every day and will be around until July 5. The coolest thing about this is that there is a website for you to post stories, photos and films about the pianos.
