You Should Know: ZADY's Maxine Bedat & Soraya Darabi

When we caught up with Maxine Bedat and Soraya Darabi last September, the duo explained all about their e-commerce site, ZADY, which aims to promote brands that are not only desirable to the consumer, but are ones that tell stories about the people and places behind them. Through ZADY, Maxine says she hopes "to help share creators' stories and facilitate a connection to our things and each other." One of Soraya's goals at ZADY is to "help her friends look stylish while feeling good about the clothes they are wearing." The site offers up everything from women's and menswear to home goods, accessories, and a slue of gifts for every type of shopper.

Soraya is also the co-founder of Foodspotting, a community-driven dish discovery app that allows individuals to find, share and recommend food dishes while Maxine is also the founder of The Bootstrap Project, a non-profit social enterprise that's mission is "to empower individuals to overcome poverty and preserve heritage craft traditions." We can't help but admire the whole of Maxine and Soraya's careers, making them two tech savvy women you should definitely know.
