Lyon Porter (pronounced "Lion") is the owner of the Urban Cowboy Bed & Breakfast, the rustic retreat in the middle of Williamsburg that in 5 short months has everyone talking. Where did this cowboy come from? Porter moved to Brooklyn in 2001 from Ohio, when it really was still the "Wild Wild West." And Urban Cowboy, a self described "passion project," hopes to give folks the true Brooklyn experience (sans the prostitutes?) hard to find amongst the current hipster bars and foodie joints. His oasis includes "4 bedrooms in a freestanding townhouse, a cabin and hot tub in the back yard and an open parlor floor that boasts operable garage doors, a pot belly stove, exposed joists and brick, wide plank pine floors…..and a lot more." We visited the Urban Cowboy, which is run by innkeeper Jersey Banks, last weekend and were transported into a world where "luxury" and "rustic" exist hand in hand without feeling kitsch (look out for our post later this month). And, if this cowboy gets sick of the hospitality game, we're certain there's a career for him in western movies! #MostPhotogenicManAlive
