Kim Kardashian might have caught flack for hosting her "tone-deaf" pandemic birthday party on a private island in Tahiti this past October, but she's hardly the only one looking to pay big bucks for the luxury of her own escape.
According to Robb Report, the market for private island purchases is hotter than ever among the elite. From French Polynesia to the Bahamas, inquiries into multimillion-dollar oases are increasing nearly tenfold.
"Now that we can all work from home, the genie is out of the bottle. All of a sudden, a private island seems justifiable," said one international broker.
