Getting there: Ride the B, Q to Brighton Beach, then take a 5 minute bus ride on the B1 Bus to Oriental Blvd.
The scene: Though this quarter-mile strip of sand is smaller than its Brooklyn beach counterparts, it’s worth the trip if only to avoid the crowds. You won’t find many tourists at this summer spot that’s mostly frequented by locals. Be sure to bring your own cooler, however, as the snack stand can have unpredictable hours.
