Earlier this month, the editorial world's Southern darling Julia Reed passed away.
Her book The House on First Street has long been on my to-read list. It's the brilliant story of how just four weeks after the forever busy columnist finally put down roots, purchasing a historic Garden District home in New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina struck.
I don't think there could be a better time for a book about riding out the storm and planting yourself in the place you love.
