Discuss your dating history! Or, you know, get your social media-stalking glasses on. Has your partner ever been in a long-term relationship? How long ago did it end? If they seem to be a perpetual bachelor/bachelorette/gender neutral term for "single," this sudden lovey-dovey stuff is most likely just seasonal. Then again, if they recently got out of a long-term relationship (like, less than a year ago), they might be using you as a stand-in to quell their loneliness during the holidays. Sigh.
