Sure, this one's a little extreme, but if you're really not in a party mood (i.e. you don't even want any booze lest you end up enjoying yourself), stay for the apps and then rub your belly and say you must go. Now you either have to avoid everyone you saw at the party for nine months, or blame it on a false alarm.
