When Sara Tayeb-Khalifa (@stk1968) and her husband, Hussein Khalifa, tapped decorator @patrickmele to revamp the London flat they had owned since the early 1990s, the renovation narrative that they conjured up was by turns posh and preposterous: a richly layered decor to suggest that the apartment had been in the family for 80-odd years and was added to every decade or so with new elements, whether they seemed felicitous or not. In the salon, above, various works from the couple’s art collection hang above a custom sofa covered in a @lamaisonpierrefrey cotton, and the pillows are by @robertkime. .
