While Sorokin/Delvey originally brokered her own deal with Netflix, including $100,000 for the rights to her story as well as tens of thousands of dollars worth of "consulting" fees and access to royalties, New York State stepped in and evoked the 1977 "Son of Sam" law, which prevents criminals from profiting off their crimes. Her profits, therefore, have gone to two of her victims: City National Bank and Citibank. However, that hasn't stopped her from inviting her "fans" to donate to her cause on her website, which includes a blog post from prison, via cryptocurrency.
